Mary Sue McFarlin Kesler, 92, of Toccoa, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at Stephens County Hospital.
The daughter of the late Grover Alexander and Mary Susie Means McFarlin, she was born Oct. 24, 1913, in Franklin County and had lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was retired from Coats & Clark with 28 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Toccoa and attended Rehoboth Assembly of God. She was a member and former worthy matron of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Kesler; sister, Lottie Dalrymple; brothers, Albert, Eugene, Doyle, George and Sam McFarlin.
Suvivors include three daughters, Nell Garland of Toccoa, Myrna McLane of Dallas and Jeanette Burrell of Westminster, S.C.; son, Sam V. Kesler of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, and,two sisters, Grace Farmer of Carnesville and Mildred Ledford of Albany.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 2, at New Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. O.L. Stokes and the Rev. Dr. Tommy Childress officiated. Interment followed in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
