Mr. Gaston J. Hornsby, Jr., of New Brockton, AL passed away Friday, August 6, 2010, at Flowers Hospital. He was 83. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, August 8, 2010, from the EL Bethel Assembly of God with Rev. Eddie Crutchfield Sr., Rev. Steve Comer and Rev. Greg Doss officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Tabernacle cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the El Bethel Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010. Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Mary Esther Hornsby, New Brockton, AL; daughters, Dr. Beverly Fox (Larry), Daphne, AL, Dr. Belinda (Wendy) Downing (Lomax), New Brockton, AL; sister, Dot Tindol, New Brockton, AL; four brothers, Claxton Hornsby, New Brockton, AL, Leon Hornsby, Troy, AL, William Allen Hornsby, Dothan, AL and Arthur Hornsby, New Brockton, AL; three grandchildren, Troy Fillingim, Heather Walden (Walt) and Brent Downing; one great granddaughter, Kaelyn Fillingim; one great grandson, Auston Walden; a host of family and friends. Pallbearers will be Randy Hornsby, Ronnie Hornsby, Neal Tindol, Danny Hornsby, Randy Sellers and Matt Hornsby.
