Mr. George "Peewee" Wendell Kesler, age 91, of 468 W. Franklin Street, Toccoa, Ga., passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012, at the St. Mary's Hospice in Bogart, Georgia.

The son of the late Thurmond and Hazel Ayers Kesler, he was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Franklin County, Ga., having lived most of his life in Stephens County, Ga.. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, 29th Infantry and recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired from Coats & Clark with 48 years of service. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Thomason Kesler in 2009; two sons, Cecil Colin Kesler and Gary Hal Kesler; and a brother, Boyd Kesler.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 5, 2012, 11 a.m., in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Stinespring and the Rev. Mike Staley officiating.

The following served as pallbearers, Darel Wade Chastain, Zak Kesler, Matt Kesler, Stan Thomason, Scot Thomason and Mike Davis.

Interment followed in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. George "Peewee" Wendell Kesler.
