For Mrs. Emma C. Oldham,
Who Passed Away Saturday at Home in Fairland.
INTERMENT AT FAIRLAND
Mrs. Emma C. Oldham, widow of the late Gideon Olham, died at her home in Fairland Saturday evening at six-twenty o'clock at the age of sixty-six years, nine months and twenty-eight days. Death was caused from a complication of diseases from which she had suffered for several months.
Mrs. Oldham was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Stewart, pioneer residents of Shelby county. During the month of March in 1875, she was married to Mr. Oldham, who preceded her in death in April, 1924. To this union five children were born, three of whom are living. They are Mrs. William Riser, of Fairland; John and Roy Oldham, both of Indianapolis. The deceased also leaves eight sisters, Mrs. Ernest Huffman of Newcastle; Mrs. James Hahn, Fairland; Mrs. Harve Arnold, Shelbyville; Mrs. Grant Armstrong, Indianapolis; Mrs. Sherman Stephens, of this city; Mrs. John Mallory and Mrs. Ralph Alexander, of Fairland, and Mr. Thomas W. Tillison, of Shelbyville. Also one brother, Riley Stewart, of Indianapolis; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive.
Mrs. Oldham was a devoted member of the Fairland Christian church., where funeral services were conducted this afternoon at two o'clock, the Rev. Maynard Poland, officiating. Burial was made in Fairland cemetery, Charles M. Weing in charge.
