Spiegelberg, Mary Winifred
Age 92, passed away August 5, 2010. She was born in Rock ford, IL February 2, 1918 to Orville and June (Moore) Lewis. Raised in Lebanon, IN she came to Detroit and worked at the Packard Motor Car Co. during World War II. In 1947 she married Earl Richard Beck (deceased 1967). She was a waitress at Hedges Wig Wam & Aunt Fanny's until receiving her diploma from David Pressley Professional School of Cosmetology, Royal Oak in 1961. Mary worked as a beautician until she married James Spiegelberg of Whitmore Lake in June 1971. Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed bingo and going to casinos. Mary was loving, kind-hearted, generous and forgiving. She will be greatly missed. Dear Mother of Harley Sheets (Dzintra), Danville, IN. and Janet (Beck) Roark, Berkley, sister of Gerald Lewis, Ruskin, FL, grandma of six, great-grandma (GG) of 11, great-great grandma of two. Step-son Walter Spiegelberg, Whitmore Lake, five step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband James of 37 years, three brothers, two sisters, grandson, and step-daughter. At Mary's request cremation has taken place, by Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, Berkley. In Mary's honor, a luncheon gathering will be held on August 14, 2010, 12 Noon at the American Legion, 2079 W. 12 Mile Rd., Berkley. A private burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, Whitmore Lake.
