She graduated from University of Utah, and was a member of Tri Delta sorority. Reecie worked as Executive Secretary to Will J. Reid, the Chairman of Hancock Oil (the "family business" -- founding member John Hancock was married to Blanche's sister, Madge). She later worked as librarian and news room secretary at the Press Telegram Newspaper in Long Beach. She was active in Meals on Wheels, the Public Corporation for the Arts, and "Save 49er Football" at Cal State Univ Long Beach. Her involvement in the "Ducks Unlimited" organization, headed by her boss Mr. Reid, earned her the nickname "The Duck Girl". Reecie died from a heart attack at age 73. At the time of her burial, this cemetery was known as Sunnyside Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
