On April 4, 1936 he married Rena Ruth Vreeland and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1986. He joined the Dalton Immanuel Methodist Church at an early age and attended the Taylor Grade School. He was a graduate of Keytesville High School. In 1944 he joined the U.S. Marines and was discharged in 1946 when he received an injury. In 1972 he and his wife owned a restaurant in Keytesville. He farmed for many years in the Dalton area.
Servces were May 3, 1993 at 10:00 A.M. at Berry Funeral Home, Keytesville, MO.
