He enlisted in the Army on April 22, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a motion picture projectionist for the Eastman Kodak Company and also as Divorced, without dependents.
Ronald died from fatal injuries suffered in a fall in Laon, France. His death was ruled as a "Non Battle" related incident.

A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Hedges Memorial Chapel in Conjunction with the funeral of his mother, Mary E. Doll.
