Imogene Elizabeth Barber, who was born in Steamboat Springs, died here on Aug. 11, 1991 at the age of 77.
A graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, Imogene also attended Colorado Women's College in Denver. On Feb. 20, 1936, she married Cyril Barber in Steamboat.
Imogene was a retired housewife. She was a former resident of Salem, Ore., and Rifle, and she resided in Steamboat and Mesa, Ariz., at the time of her death. She was also a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, and she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing bridge at the Extended Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church, with Fr. Thomas Dentici officiating. Organist/soloist was Romaine Mahaffey, and the special music selection was "The Rose."
Visitation was held Tuesday evening at the Greeno Mortuary Chapel for family and friends. Burial was in Steamboat Springs Cemetery.
Imogene leaves her sons, H.P. "Pat" Barber of Steamboat, Cyril Barber Jr. of Grand Junction, and Robert Barber of Port Angeles, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers Pat and Robert Heid; and Walter (Timer) Heid.
