Casper Soldier Dead in FranceLoses Life in Airplane AccidentThe name of Pvt. Edward O'Farrell, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. V. "Patty" O'Farrell, 1155 South Cottonwood, has been added to the rapidly growing list of Natrona county heroes who have died in the service of their country. Pvt. O'Farrell was killed in a plane crash in France, according to word received by his wife, the former Miss Margaret Hammell and his parents.The details of the accident were not learned but the message stated that a letter was following. The message was received Sunday night.

Pvt. O'Farrell was a popular Casper youth and was well liked by all who knew him. He was born in Poplar Bluffs, Mo. but resided in Csaper since he was three years old. He attended grade and high school here graduating with the class of 1938.Following his graduation he was employed at the Red Front Grocery and later at the Standard Refinery where his father had been employed for a number of years.He entered the service in September 1943 and left for overseas in February 1944.In addition to his wife and 21-months old son, Rocky Lee, and his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Miller, and Mrs. Robert Lowery, both of Casper, and a brother Corp William O'Farrell, now in New Guinea.Mrs. O'Farrell and her son have been making their home with her parents at 1219 South Cottonwood street.

Edward graduated from Casper High School in 1938. He worked at the Red Front Grocery and later at the Standard Refinery where his father also worked. According to his obituary, he was well liked by all who knew him.PVT Edward C. O'Farrell entered the military in September 1943 and deployed overseas five months later.
