In about 1917, she married Carl Andrew Branson, who was the son of Edward Branson (1857 - ? ) and Caroline Louise Roedel (1858 - 1944). While he completed a WWI Draft Registration card in Cuyahoga County, Ohio in 1918, they were residing in Midland, Michigan, by 1920.
We are fortunate to have a photograph of Mazie with a group of 9 other Sheldon, Rowland, and Riley cousins and aunts that was taken in about 1926 in Wellington, Lorain County, Ohio. A family member identified Mazie (center) and her mother Luella (Crane) Helman Sheldon (standing second from left). All others were descendants of Benjamin F. (1791 - 1870) and Lovisa (Rice) (1796 - 1870) Sheldon of LaGrange, Lorain County, Ohio. Benjamin was a veteran of the War of 1812. While Charles Sheldon did not have any other children of record, Mazie was an important step-daughter.
Blessings and thanks to the Branson family.
