Albert Preston Harrell was the son of William H. and Loretta Morris (Colglazier) Harrell, who are buried in Fairland Cemetery in Shelby County Indiana.

He was the grandson of Byrum Harrell & Sally Hubble who are also buried in Brandywine Cemetery. His other grandparents were Jacob Colglazier & Elizabeth Gorrell.

His first wife was Linsey B. Williams, who he married on October 30, 1880.

After her death, A.P. Harrell married Olive Lisher, who is buried in Asbury Cemetery, Morristown, Shelby County, Indiana.

He shares a stone with his first wife.

Albert Preston Harrell, 57 years old, a life-long resident of the Fairland community, died at 2 o'clock Sunday morning at the Hamilton county hospital in Noblesville, following an illness of many weeks. For the past eight weeks he had been taking treatment at the hospital, because of a complication of diseases. His death was due directly to an attack of pneumonia, which developed a few days ago. His body was brought, Sunday afternoon, to his late home, northeast of Fairland, near the Brandywine M.E. Church, and the funeral services will be held at the church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. J.W. Weddle, of Columbus, officiating, and burial will be made in the Brandywine cemetery in charge of Stewart & Fix.
Mr. Harrell was born near Fairland, December 24, 1860, and was a son of W. H. Harrell, now a resident of Fairland. His mother's death occurred a few years ago. Mr. Harrell had followed farming all his life and his work had been crowned with success. He was held in highest esteem by all who knew him, being counted as one of the most dependable and substantial citizens of the community. He was a member of the Christian church in Fairland.
Surviving Mr. Harrell are his father, his wife, two sisters and five brothers. The sisters and brothers are Mrs. J. M. [Ida May] Ensminger, Mrs. Gertrude Sexton, E. V. Harrell, W. A. Harrell and Silas Harrell, all residents of the Fairland community, Harry E. Harrell, of Indianapolis and Frank C. Harrell, of this city."
