Trained at Parris Island, South Carolina; assigned to 83rd Company, 6th Marines, 2nd Division. Embarked for overseas in March 1918. Killed in battle of Chateau-Thierry on July 19, 1918 near Vierzy. Died at age 23 years, 7 months, 3 days. Time in service: 7 months, 21 days.
