Jeff is the 2nd of 2 children of Walter W. Housley Jr. and Alice "Jean" Hancock. Jeff was adopted at about age 9 by his mother's third husband, Harrill McKee Bower, and took the surname. Jeff married Carol Ann Wood. They divorced and she died of cancer at age 32. Their children are Jeanine Hancock Bower and Walker Housley Bower. Jeff married Carol Ann Griffith (nee Lindenman), who had children Laura and Wendy Griffith. Jeff and Carol #2 also divorced. Jeff's partner later in life was Rachel Anderson Price, mother of Kelly and Beckie, who called him "Daddy". Kelly pre-deceased Jeff. Rachel remained with Jeff until his death. Jeff was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was the owner and operator of Davis Racing in Hinesville GA. He was a member of the International Outboard Grand Prix, The River Rats, and the American Powerboat Association. His ashes were scattered in front of his home on the Wacama River in Conway.
