Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Ellen Walker, 87 years of age, were held Tuesday, December 12 at 2 p.m. from the Roley Christian Church with the Rev. Carl Mullins in charge. Burial was in the Roley Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Leon Christie, James Walker, Chester Walker, Orvill Mann, Ralph Walker, and Carl Wolford.

Mrs. Walker, daughter of the late Elvira Puryear and A. B. Chelf, was born December 14, 1862 in Adair County (KY). She died Monday, December 11 at 6:15 a.m. at her home near Roley. She had been in declining health for sometime. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Roley Christian Church.

She united in marriage to George Earvin Walker on November 18, 1884 and to this union six children were born, Thelbert L. Walker of Knifley, Charlie Walker of Louisville, Mrs. Ebb Mann of Casey Creek, Mrs. Gertie English of Arlington, Texas, Mrs. A. C. Wolford of St. Matthews, and Roy Walker of Campbellsville.

Besides husband and children, she is survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, December 21, 1950.
