He was born March 18, 1928, in Brier Hill, Fayette County, the son of the late Martin Findura and Mary (Farkasovski) Findura.
Joseph was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
He was a Pennsylvania State Policeman for 32 years before retiring in 1987.
He was also a member of Butler County Law Enforcement Association and FOP Brady Paul Lodge 54.
He was a veteran of U.S. Army, having served in Korean War.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Felicia (Talaga) Findura; two daughters, Janet (Robert) Gray of Butler and Sandra Findura of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Nicholas Hnato; two brothers, Frank (Beth) Findura of Medina, Ohio, and Andy Findura of Allentown; and a sister, Mary Ann (Ray) Kirsch of Canonsburg.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Richard Findura; and a brother, Edward Findura.
FINDURA - Friends of Joseph C. Findura, who died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Extension, Butler, with Father James Salberg officiating. Entombment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park, Butler.
The FOP 54 will have a service at 8:15 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
