David L Kieffer was born on 29 Mar 1841 in Williamsport, Lycoming, PennsylvaniaHe died on 4 Jul 1897 in Brimfield, Portage, Ohio Civil War Service - He enlisted from Mifflin County, PA. as a Private in Co E, Pennsylvania 131st Infantry Regiment on 14 Aug 1862 as a Private. The unit organized at Camp Curtin, PA and immediately proceeded to Washington DC for battle in VA. He mustered out on 23 May 1863 at Harrisburg, PA. at end of enlistment. On Apr 10 1888 he applied for an invalid's pension which was approved - Cert # 912438; His wife filed for a widow's pension on Aug 14 1897 - application # 659665 - no further information; Service listed was Co E of 131st PA Infantry. In 1870 he was a farmer in Copley, Summit, OhioIn 1880 he was a farmer in Brimfield, Portage, Ohio -------------------------
