Ronald R. Cripe, 72, of Goshen, died Wednesday evening, July 28, 2010, at Elkhart General Hospital. He had been ill the past two and a half years.
He was born on February 8, 1938, in Goshen, to the late Ray G. and Nellie (VanderMaas) Cripe. On January 30, 1960 he married Inge Fischer in Goshen. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Teresa (Richard) Hobson of Elkhart; a son, Michael (Terri) Cripe of Goshen; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Phyllis Branson and Norma (Ned) Robison, both of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard G. Cripe and a sister, Helen Huff.
A 1956 graduate of Goshen High School, he served in the US Army 1956 to 1958. He worked at Pen and Johnson Controls for 41 years, retiring in 2000 as a supervisor. He was a member of the Goshen VFW; and a former member of Maplecrest Country Club, McCormick Creek Golf Course, and the Goshen Moose. He volunteered at Courtyard Healthcare in Goshen and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, August 1, and one hour prior to the service on Monday, at the funeral home.
A 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Chaplain John Piecuch officiating.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
