He was a member of the Woodville Christian Church serving as deacon for many years and church treasurer for thirty years. He was a Mason, a member of Asylum Lodge No. 63. He died of cancer. Funeral services were conducted from the Woodville Christian Church with the Reverend C.A. Hamilton officiating.
