Born June 26, 1935, in Rimersburg, Pa., he was a son of the late Donald and Lucinda (Colwell) Summerville. Darl served his country in the U.S. Army and was a steelworker with J & L Steel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. (Myers) Summerville; two grandsons, Darl James Summerville and Joseph Andrew Knopp and an infant granddaughter, Mikayla R. Summerville
He is survived by his two daughters, Lucinda L. Knopp and friend, Frank Oriskovich, Hopewell Township and Darlene Berry and husband, William, New Brighton; a son, Russell Summerville and wife, Marjorie, Freedom; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson; two brothers, Milo Summerville, of Oregon, and Donald Summerville, Rimersburg, Pa.; three sisters, Ellen Newman, Marion, Ohio; Alice Stitt, of Rimersburg, Pa. and Phyllis Hetrick, Erie, Pa., and several nieces and nephews and a good friend, Charles Rinehart.
Friends will be received in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME INC. at SYLVANIA HILLS MEMORIAL PARK INC., Daugherty Township today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until Monday at 11 a.m. when a service will be held in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Michael L. Bailey officiating.
Interment to follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp.
