Melvin was born in Gas City to Willard and Rella (Wilson) Bosworth and they preceded him in death. He retired from Glass Containers in Gas City after 33½ years of service. He was an army veteran. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years as well as fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his daughters: Glori (Sam) Henning, Gas City, IN; Brenda (Fred) Toor, Saint Cloud, Florida, and a granddaughter in law, Amber Bell.
