Sarah Elizabeth Griffin, age 82, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away Wednesday evening, January 21, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Griffin was born on December 30, 1932 in Jasper FL the daughter of the late Ander and Allie Bell Cribbs. She was a resident of Jacksonville FL before moving to Fernandina Beach in 1974. Mrs. Griffin worked as a cashier for Publix Supermarket before her retirement in 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Griffin, Sr. in December of 1996 along with two sisters, Edna Musgrove and Louise Gay. Mrs. Griffin leaves behind her son, Thomas Allen Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Fasha, of Onalaska TX, her two sisters, Gladys Ayers of Middleburg FL, Elaine Sullivan of Pace, FL, her two grandchildren, Bo Griffin and his wife, Jamie, Michelle Chambers and her husband, Eddie, two great grandsons,Colton and Clint Griffin, numerous nieces and nephews and a devoted friend and neighbor, Ralph Douglas of Fernandina Beach. The family would like to give a special thank you to Mrs. Griffin’s church family at Spring Hill Baptist Church and her Grace Group for their prayers and support. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Springhill Baptist Church with Pastor Bud Long, officiating. Mrs. Griffin will be laid to rest beside her husband in Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, at the church, from 12 noon until the hour of service.
