Leslie was born on Sept. 2, 1965, in Williamsport, and graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1983. She was the second of five children to Phyllis Adams. Leslie was married once to Thomas G. Burk Sr. of Philadelphia. She leaves to cherish her memory two amazing children, Cierra N. Burk (19) and Thomas G. Burk Jr. (17). She is also survived by her mother, Phyllis Adams of Williamsport; sister Roberta Adams of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Eric Adams, Patrick Adams and William Adams, all of Williamsport; maternal grandmother Mildred R. Adams of Williamsport; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of cousins.

Growing up, Leslie was an exceptional gymnast, competing in leagues throughout Pennsylvania. She was also a trained bodybuilder in the late 1980s and participated in competitions throughout the U.S. and abroad. She was baptized as a child and joined Salem African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Leslie began her adult life by serving in the Navy as an information technology specialist from 1983 until 1987, and achieved the rank of E4. She also was current in the Navy Reserves from 2001 until 2004.

In the late 1990s, Leslie fulfilled her dream of owning a business, "Leslie's finest" hair salon in Williamsport. Upon moving to Georgia in 2000, she continued her occupation as a hairdresser, in addition to starting a new career as a personal trainer.

Leslie's love of life was evidenced by her many friends, too many to list.

She was considered a beautiful woman by all who knew her.

Leslie Marva Adams went on to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although Leslie's life was too short to us, those who were touched by her spirit understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which she lived. Her vibrant personality and inner charm brought so much to our family and to her friends.
