William Marion Barnes was the oldest child of Jehu and Elizabeth Datsan Parkes Barnes. He married Sarah Jane Walker on Feb. 10, 1870. They had 6 children. William and Sarah gave land for the Fairview school on Feb. 6, 1877. After Sarah died in 1885, Grandma Elizabeth took the chldren and raised them. Marion went out west to work and sent money to Elizabeth to support them. Marion remarried October 4, 1898 to Rebecca J. Garner and they had two children. William had a blacksmith shop in Ozark county. He served in the Civil War.
