Reed had a very humorous view of life and death, and he left almost $20,000 to his favorite pub to cover his post-funeral celebration costs. He died during the filming of the Academy Award winning 2000 motion picture "Gladiator". His body was returned to his favorite Irish village, and he was buried in a spot where there is a full view of his favorite pub.
