Harry W. Shupe 68, passed away at his home, 628 No. 4th St., Apollo, Monday morning, March 16, 1953, at 9:30 o'clock as the result of an illness of some months duration.

Mr. Shupe was a native of South Bend township. Born July 25, 1884, the son of Jacob and Margaret Walters Shupe. He came to Apollo and accepted employment from the boro under the late Alex McCullough. When Mr. McCullough died August 12. 1930, Mr. Shupe was named Street Commissioner to succeed him, a post he held for over a quarter century and until his death.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Zetta M. Shupe; three sons, Walter J. Star Route, Apollo, Wilmer E. and Kenneth F., both of Apollo; three daughters, Mrs. Olive Strong, Vandergrift; Mrs. James Kingensmith, RD 1 Shelocta, and Mrs. Wyvonne Cimprich, North Vandergrift.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother; James Shue, Apollo, Star Route, and three sisters; Mrs. Emma Rupert, Kittanning RD; Mrs. T.J. Wyatt, Vandergrift RD and Mrs. J.H. McGeary, Dearfield, Ohio.

Friends were received at the residence, 628 North Fourth Street, until Thursday morning. Services were held with the Rev. William C. Hankey, pastor in charge. Burial was in the South Bend cemetery.
