EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. -- Calista L. Glasker, 87, of the Bell Tower Retirement Community, East Dubuque, formerly of Scales Mound, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010, at the retirement community.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Scales Mound. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Galena. Friends may call will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 15, at Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Scales Mound, where there will be a parish rosary/scripture service at 4 p.m.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1922, near Galena, daughter of August and Eleanora (Sanderson) Koehler. She married Albertus H. "Bert" Glasker on April 25, 1944, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Galena; he preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 2004.

She was a homemaker and member of Holy Trinity Parish.

Calista loved working with flowers, was an excellent cook and enjoyed going dancing with Bert. She especially enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Marvin) Brimeyer, of Sherrill, Iowa; a son, James (Mary Jane) Glasker, of Scales Mound; four grandchildren, Susan (Ken) Vickers, of Hartford, Conn., Tom (Becky) Heller, of Dickeyville, Wis., Chris Glasker, of Scales Mound, and Angie Glasker, of Shorewood, Wis.; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eileen Zeal, of Hanover, and Rosanne (Ed) Keleher, of Cuba City, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Marilyn (Wilbur) Hammer and Helen (Clarence) Glasker.
