Geneva Adean Abbott, 90, of Malvern, passed away December 2, 2013. Geneva was born May 28, 1923 in Malvern to James and Martha Davis. She was the Sunday School Secretary for 43 years at Oaklawn 1st Church of God of Hot Springs. Geneva was known as the "bean bag champ" and the "honey lady" who sold honey by the case for her cousin. Geneva is predeceased by her parents, husband of 65 years, J.E. "Edd" Abbott, daughter Patsy Edmondson, her son-in-law Douglas Edmondson, two brothers and two sisters. Geneva is survived by two granddaughters Tresa (Brett) Haley of Glen Rose and Angela (Mike) Bershers of Glenwood, five great-grandchildren; Stephen and Stephanie Hill of Glen Rose and Sara, Tracey and Zoey Bershears of Glenwood, one great-great grandchild, Austin Hill, and numerous other family members that she loved dearly, but just too many to list.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will immedialely follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Fairplay Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Bruce Burton, the staff at the Crossing and Malvern Nursing Home.
