BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. — Genive Cooper Prauser, 71, 431 West Ave., died at 1:27 a.m. Sunday at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo., after a short illness.
Mrs. Prauser was born Feb. 11, 1923, at Tipton Ford, Mo. She had lived in the Baxter Springs area most of her life and at her present address for the past 50 years. She operated Prauser’s Photography Studio in Baxter Springs until 1966. She worked in the jewelry department at Wal-Mart in Baxter Springs until she retired in 1988. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Galena.
Survivors include two sons, Larry A. Prauser, Columbus, and Sammy R. Prauser, Baxter Springs; a daughter, Ann Marie Prauser, Baxter Spring; a brother, Carl Cooper, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. The Rev. J. W. Stephenson will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery, Tipton Ford.
Pallbearers will be Mark Prauser, Brent Prauser, Brady Prauser, Gabe Nichols, Don Frost and Joe Hiser.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
