He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brooklyn College and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II, before completing a doctorate in Chemistry at Iowa State University.
Dr. Pruzansky was a Professor of Micro-Biology-Immunology at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois and did research for 32 years before retiring in 1988, but maintained status as a consultant until his death. He was named a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and was a member of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.
Moving to Blairsville in 1988, he spent the next five years as a volunteer teachers aid at Union County Middle school, after school tutor, and tutoring the GED program at the Detention Center and in the evening GED program.
He was a loyal and enthusiastic volunteer in the construction of St. Clare's Episcopal Church on Ledford Road where memorial services will be held Saturday, May 5th at am.
