Screenwriter. Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of writer Edward E. Rose and worked on several classic films in the 1930s and 1940s. Some of her most noted movie screenplays included the original "King Kong" (1933), "Blind Adventure" (1933), "She" (1935), "The Last Days of Pompeii" (1935) and "Mighty Joe Young" (1949). Her screenplays were also used on the two re-makes of "King Kong" in 1976 and 2005. She died at age 82 in Santa Monica, California.
