Fred married Virginia Garrett of Thomaston, Georgia, May 30, 1941. Fred was a World War II veteran serving as a Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps. Fred was a lawyer and lived in the Atlanta area. Fred and Virginia had 2 sons, James Frederick (Ricky) Jr. (1944-1978) (Vietnam veteran) and Robert Adrian (Bob) (1949-2003). Fred and Ricky are buried in the Stephen K. Crawley Cemetery near Sarah Josephine Brandon and Henry Lee Crawley. Bob is buried in Upson Memorial Gardens, in Thomaston.
