Lynnetta Faith "Lynn" Shelton, better known as "Gran-Gran", 71 passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 in Midland, TX. She was born July 14, 1938 to Mary Elizabeth Davis and Thomas Travis Tipton in Hobbs, New Mexico where she was raised and educated.

Lynn met James Howard "Jim" Shelton on a blind date and married on August 26, 1960 in Hobbs. She worked with her husband at Covington-Shelton-Taylor Architecture and later at Jim Shelton Architecture. Outside of family and work the Shelton's were actively involved the Odessa Downtown Lions Club with the handicapped needs of our community, and a member of the American Study Club. She was member of Second Baptist Church and in 2006 was born again and baptized in Jesus name at Bible Centered Fellowship.

Lynn is preceded in death by her parents Mary Elizabeth and Thomas Travis Tipton and husband James Howard Shelton.

Survivors are four children, Sheryl Davis and husband Mark of Midland, TX, Sonja House and husband Mark of Odessa, TX, Sondra Shelton and Mike Napkori of Ft. Worth, TX and Joel Shelton and wife Amie of Midland, TX; five grandchildren, Shea McFarland and husband Phillip of San Diego, CA, Hayden House, Evan House, Grace Shelton and Landry Shelton; one Great-grandchild, Talan James McFarland due August 2, 2010; brothers Keith Tipton and wife Angie, Brent Tipton both of Granbury, TX.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, June 21, 2010 at Second Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Duckett and Mike Wright of First Baptist Church Iraan officiating and burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3-5 PM Sunday at Sunset Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the Odessa Downtown Lions Club for the training of dogs for the blind.
