This Friday for
Mrs. Anna East
Services for Mrs. Anna B. East, 88, who died Tuesday in Hastings, will be held Friday at 2 o'clock in the Fairfield Methodist church (sic) with the Rev. C. F. Watters officiating.
Burial will be in the Fairfield cemetery (sic) with the McLaughlin Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. East had lived at Fairfield since 1935, moving from a farm.
Survivors include her sons, Vern of Clay Center, Floyd of Kearney, and Cecil of Whittler, Calif., and a daughter, Mrs. Phillip Merryman of Redondo Beach, Calif.

Anna B. East, daughter of Sarah and Jim Bowman, was born on Feb. 1st, 1871 in Dewitt county (sic), Ill., and departed from this life on Nov. 17th, 1959 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 17 days at Hastings.
She accepted her Savior at an early age, who had been her Guide through life.
On Oct. 21st, 1888 she was married to Ulysses S. Grant East. To this union was born four sons and one daughter. An infant son and her husband preceded her in death.
In 1896 they moved to Nebraska and resided on a farm except for two years which was spent in Oklahoma on a ranch.
In 1934 they retired and moved to Fairfield where she spent the remainder of her life until June of this year when she entered the hospital.
She was active in her church work as long as her health permitted and was especially interested in children, having taught Sunday school (sic) at the East Lynn school near Clay Center in Pioneer days and in Camargo, Okla.
She was a member of the Fairfield Methodist church (sic) in which she had a great interest.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her three sons, Cecil W. East of Whittier, Calif., Floyd L. East of Kearney, Vern C. East of Clay Center, and one daughter, Mrs. Phillip Merryman of Redondo Beach, Calif. 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
