Surviving are his wife, Ida Belle Davis (nee Browning); two sons, Timothy Allen Davis of Gray Ridge and Derek Wayne Monday of St. Clair; one daughter, Caroline Davis of Gray Ridge; two stepdaughters, Teresa Monday and Janet Ward; one stepson, Paul Remagen, all of St. Clair; his mother and stepfather, Erma and Milford Brown of Poplar Bluff; six brothers, Donald and wife, Marie, of Omaha, Neb., Charles and wife, Joyce of Clarksville, Ark., Walter of Dexter, Luther and wife, Jean of Farmington, Etsel and wife, Dora of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jeff and wife, Bobbie of DeSoto; three sisters, Irene Wilson and husband, Dale and Gloretta McGee, all of Indianapolis, and Wanda Brunner and husband, Jim of Fountaintown, Indiana; three grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Anna Mae Browning of Hopes Summit; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Davis, in 1966, and by two brothers, Joe and Marrion Davis.
He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 600 of St. Louis.
A kind and living husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and uncle, and a treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 1987 at the Russell Colonial Chapel, St. Clair. Interment was in the Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair.
