Services for Lloyd Allen Carver Jr. were held yesterday (Wednesday) in the Assembly of God Church. Burial followed in Corcoran District Cemetery under the direction of Bledsoe Funeral Chapel.
Carver, 17, drowned Sunday night while swimming in an irrigation canal near Porterville. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Sierra View Hospital.
A native of Corcoran, Carver was living in Strathmore at the time of his death. He was a high school senior.
Survivors are his father Lloyd Carver Sr. of Corcoran; his mother Dolores Stockton of Bakersfield; his stepfather Clarence Stockton of Bakersfield; one brother Craig Carver and two sisters, Norma and Genise Carver, all of Bakersfield.
Other survivors are his grandmother Lorine Thomas of Fontana; his great-grandmothers, Beulah Carver of Tulare and Margaret Burkhart of Fontana, and his great-grandfather Ben Bostic of Bloomfield, Mo.
