D. Nichols Funeral is Saturday
Services for Dale Allen Nichols, 63, 1401 S. Third St., Norfolk, will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Howser Morturay. James Landrum, minister of First Christian church, will officiate, and burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
The body will lie in state Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Howser Mortuary.
Mr. Nichols, who had not been well since 1970, died March 25, about 8:40 p.m. at a Norfolk hospital where he had been a patient since March 7.
He was born June 4, 1911, at Concord to Mr. and Mrs. Allen Nichols and was employed in California 25 years before moving to Norfolk in 1963. Here he was employed by Hinken Truck Line.
He married Clara Krecklav at Dakota City Jan. 11, 1941. She survives as do one stepson and one stepdaughter, Eugene Wiegman of Omaha and Mrs. Ray (Arlys) Collins of Minneapolis, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.
Also surviving are six brothers and four sisters; Arthur of Portland, Ore., Archie of Bremerton, Ore., Walter of Reseda, Calif., Harold of Lakewood, Calif., Richard and Merle of Valley Station, Ky., Mrs. Rachel Craig and Mrs. Mary McElwain, both of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Leona Magner of Lake View, Iowa, and Mrs. Louise Lenninger of Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Dale loved horses and he was a jockey and a trainer in California. He helped Elmer Wilmarth, the rural mail carrier of Concord, Neb., care for his race horses and rode in races for Elmer.
