Steven L. "Steve" Grant, 61, of Lafayette, died Tuesday morning, June 22, 2010, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born June 10, 1949 in Lafayette to Raymond J. and Dorothy E. Hild Grant. He married Ramona "Sue" Coy in Lafayette on Dec. 5, 1970. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Christie L. Turbeville (husband: Rob) of Clarksville, Indiana; a grandson, Grant Jackson Turbeville and one brother, Michael C. Grant (wife: Nancy) of Port Huron, Michigan.

He served as a deputy sheriff in Tippecanoe County for 25 years, retiring in 2003 with the rank of captain.
