Mrs. Louise Golden

After a brief illness, due to old age and complications, Mrs. Louise Golden passed away last Thursday night in a Chicago hospital, being in her 78th year. Mrs. Golden was born at Wittenberg, Germany, in 1841, and came to this country at the age of 15 years, spending about one year in New York state and then coming to Illinois.

In the year 1860 she was united in marriage to John Golden, and had resided in this vicinity for almost 39 years. Three sisters survive--Mrs. Sophia Hackel and Mrs. Carrie Scheff of Fairmont, Minn., also two brothers, Albert and Victor Sauer of Long Grove. Mrs. Golden's children who are living are Edward and Frank of Oak Ridge, John A., of Elmhurst, and Robert N., of Colombus, Ohio, Mrs. Bertha Marsh of Rogers Park, Mrs. Anna Gomm of Springfield, Mrs. Frank Hollister and Mrs. Ernest Rieke of Barrington.

Deceased had spent the late years of her life in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rieke of this village, where she received the most thoughtful care. She had been a member of the M. E. church of Barrington for 30 years, and her great faith and faithfulness are known to all. By her passing a large number of warm and admiring friends mourn her departure.

The funeral services were conducted at the home of her daughter in this village Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. DeLong, where friends gathered to pay their last respects to this good mother and citizen.
