Kathryn L. Wall, 90, of Batavia since 1998, formerly of Glen Ellyn since 1960, died April 14 at the Johnson Healthcare Center in Carol Stream. She was born Jan. 25, 1913, in Barrington.

Mrs. Wall was a music teacher and devoted her entire career within the Glen Ellyn public grade schools for more than 40 years. She was raised and educated in Barrington and received her master’s in music education from the University of Illinois, Champaign. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn, where she was a member of the 60-60 Club and was choir director of the club. She was a member of the Retired Rhythm Rascals Dixie Land Band, playing the piano.

Mrs. Wall is survived by her daughter, Linda (Clifford) Nelson of Bolton, Conn.; four grandchildren, Dawn Ussery, Dayleen Bushnell, Christopher Nelson and Eric Nelson; a brother, Ned Coe of Chicago; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George G.

Funeral services were held April 19 at the Leonard Memorial Home, Ltd., Glen Ellyn, with the Rev. Bonnie L. Beckonchrist officiating. Interment was in White Memorial Cemetery of Cuba Township in the Barrington area. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 999 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
