"Lyda" DANIELL was born 5 June 1874 in Thomas County, Georgia, the first child of John Levi DANIELL and Emily "Emma" POPE. In the censuses, she is named as "Anna E." in 1880, "Meliza" in 1900, "Amy E." in 1910, "Annie E." in 1920, and "Lyda" in 1930. "Lyda" was likely a nickname from a middle name Elizabeth.
Lyda's mother died in 1891, not long after the family migrated from Georgia to Ellis County, Texas. She raised her younger siblings and then lived with and cared for her father until he passed away in 1913.
By 1920, Lyda made her home with her sister Sallie and brother-in-law, Lorenza Dow FLOYD. In the 1930 census of Ellis County, Texas, Lyda DANIELL, 55, single, continued to reside in the home of her sister.
Lyda never married and died in Bardwell, Ellis County, Texas on 3 January 1949 at age 74.
