Mrs. Rosetta Amelia Hulbert Nichols was born on October 6, 1859 in Amboy, Lee County, Illinois and died at Yankton, July 19. She spent fourteen years of her early life in and around Amboy and came to Nebraska with her parents in 1873. She was married on March 8, 1882 to John H. Nichols of Saunders County, Nebraska. Mrs. Nichols has lived in Nebraska fifty years and came to Yankton, South Dakota about one and one-half years ago. Her health has been failing for many months but through the months of pain and suffering she has always been cheerful and ever ready to do all she could for those she met. Mrs. Nichols is survived by her husband, John W. Nichols, two sons and a daughter......

Daughter of Charles and Eliza Hulbert; she was the sister of Dowden H., Clarence, Ulysses, Nona, Cora, Lena M., and Lillian L. Rosetta, Dowden, Lena and Lillian were the only four children living in 1900 census.
