Excerpts of Obituary---
John W. Nichols was born in Cambridge, Henry County, Illinois, Sept. 30, 1859. The first 15 years of his life were spent in and near Cambridge and in 1875 he came to Saunders county, Nebraska.
He was united in marriage to Miss Rosetta Amelia Hubbert March 8, 1882 and in 1885 they moved to Dixon county where they lived for many years and later they moved to Yankton, South Dakota. His wife passed away July 20, 1929.
He was in Iowa with his son Frank for a while and came back here this fall and made his home with his brother A. A. Nichols in Concord til the time of his death. He was sick only a few days with the "flu."
He is survived by two sons, Harry and Frank, one daughter, Edna, a brother, A.A. Nichols of Concord, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Wilde of Sherwood, Oregon and Mrs. Daisy Holmes, of Oregon City, Oregon........
