Age 71, of Pennsville, NJ, (formerly of Wilmington, DE) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16th, 2010.
Liz was born in Syracuse, NY, on October 17, 1938, daughter of the late Chester and Lucy Lutz. Liz was a graduate of Convent of the Holy Spirit in Techny, Illinois and worked as a loan officer for DE Trust. A lifelong lover of music, Liz was a member of the Delaware Opera Society where she enjoyed singing and producing area shows. Through the years she was very active in her children and grandchildren's school and social organizations. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach and with her husband at Delaware Park and Dover Downs. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her beloved family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her brother Chuck. She is survived by her devoted husband, James; her son Billy Lyons and his wife Sharon of Hockessin, DE, and daughter Lisa Lyons Keller of Scottsdale, Arizona; step children Cheryl, Jimmy, and Jeff Abhau of Pennsville NJ and their spouses/companions Steve, Casey, and Rosealee. She is also survived by sister-in-law Barbara Lutz of Utah; nieces, Michele Lamb of Colorado and Christine Lutz of Utah; and 10 grandchildren (Gregory Pizzoli and Erica Keller; Amanda, Jessica, John & James Lyons; Alexis, Chelsea, James III and Dylan Abhau).
Funeral services will be held 11 am, on Monday, June 21, at the LAUGHREY FUNERAL HOME, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10-11 am, prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Liz to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
