DONALD WAYNE PERKINS

Donald Wayne Perkins, 62, died on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at his residence in Goodman.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 28, at Southern Funeral Home in Durant at 2 p.m. with burial in Seneasha Cemetery in Goodman. Brother Carl Hudson and Brother Mike Martin were the officiating ministers.

Mr. Perkins was born on March 25, 1943 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a son of John K. Perkins and Wandee Kendricks Perkins. He was a salesman with Barrett-Nunnery, a veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Main Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Bessie Horne Perkins of Goodman; brother, Mike Perkins of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a sister, Darlene Finch of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Pallbearers were: Ashley Horne, Kyle McDanell, Pat Stephens, Frank Musso, Rickie Thomas, and Jim McCrory. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Main Street Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Main Street Baptist Church benevolence fund, P. O. Box 206, Goodman, MS 39079, or The Salvation Army, P. O. Box 2429, Jackson, MS 39225-2429.
