McDuffee Joe T, 73, a lifelong resident of the Churubusco and LaOtto communities, died March 18 at his winter home in Dunedin, Florida, of a heart attack. He was a retired farmer and member of Huntertown Methodist Church, Churubusco Masonic Lodge, Huntertown Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, and for eighteen years a member of the Noble County Council. He had been a Mason for forty-nine years. Surviving are the widow, Lottie; one son, Lee, LaOtto; two stepsons, Theodore and Earl Brindle of LaOtto; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jay Snell, R. R. 1, Avilla, and Mrs. Elmer Birge of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, John of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Milton of Fort Wayne; and three sisters, Mrs. Harry Simcox, Garrett, Mrs. Herman Gakale of Bradenton, Fla., and Miss Martha McDuffee of Fort Wayne. Funeral March 23, at the McKee Funeral Home. Burial, Eel River Cemetery. ~ 3-19-1959
