Memorial Celebration of Life Services for Cherie Russell of Lubbock will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at the South Plains Christian Fellowship with Pastor Don Jackson officiating. Private family burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of AgapŽ Funeral Chapel of Lubbock. Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at the funeral home.

Cherie was born Dec. 12, 1953 in Lamesa and was released to her Lord Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004. She was a graduate of Monterey High School and Texas Tech University. On July 25, 1980, Cherie was joined in marriage to Bill Russell in Santa Fe, N.M. In her music career, she taught elementary school in Lubbock and Slaton and offered private lessons locally. She was a member of the Lubbock Music Teachers Association, Trinity Church and the South Plains Christian Fellowship. Cherie's passion in life was music and helping others she came in contact with. She assisted her husband, Bill, in ministry touching lives in the U.S. and aboard. Her first love was her Lord.

Cherie is survived by her husband, Bill Russell; parents, Ernest and LaWanna Moore; a sister, Ann Moore; two daughters, Jenny Lind O'Neill and husband Scott and Elizabeth Ann With and husband Erik; and seven grandchildren.
