Cpl. Newsam died from abdominal surgery with the onset of Pneumonia at a General Hospital in England on 5-3-1943.

Cpl. Newsam is the son of Mr.& Mrs. Frank Newsam of Peoria, Illinois. He is a 1937 graduate of Manual Training H.S., and was employed out of the Boilermakers Union Local #69. Cpl. Newsam was inducted into the Army on March 24, 1942, and he leaves two sisters, Miss Ada, and Miss Mona of Hammond, Indiana, and was engaged to a Miss Joyce Wolstenholm of Peoria.
