David Anthony "Tony" Spruill
Sgt. First Class (Ret.) David Anthony "Tony" Spruill, 65, of 117 Bayview Trail, Edenton, NC died Saturday July 23, 2005 at the Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, NC.
Mr. Spruill was born January 6, 1940, in Pasquotank County and was the son of the late Harry L. and Addie White Spruill.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Elizabeth City, NC, a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne and 101st Airborne battalions, and a member of the Edenton American Legion Post # 40.
Survivors include his wife; Helga Rieck Spruill, his daughters Franziska Spruill and Samantha Spruill both of Elizabeth City, NC, brothers Mickey Spruill of Edenton, NC and Charles Spruill of Weeksville, NC and a grandson Caspian Spruill.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday July 27, 2005, at 3:00 P. M. at the First Christian Church in Elizabeth City, with Pastor Gary Vogelpohl officiating. Military rites will be rendered by the U. S. Army at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
