Jo Ellen was the 2nd daughter of Marvin Giles and Marie Godfrey Giles. She was raised at Carnegie, OK and married Quintus Dewayne Colwell before her Senior year in highschool. They had two sons: Jeremy Dewayne Colwell and Marty Jo Colwell. Dewayne and Jo Ellen moved their family to Drumright around 1987 where they both worked in the school system. Jo Ellen worked with special education students and Dewayne taught auto mechanics at the Vo-Tech school. They lived there until her death in 1989.
